ArchivalResource

Washington State Library's collection of diaries and photograph negatives, Sept. 10, 1912-Jun. 30, 1914.

This collection was purchased at an auction around 1975 in Zoar, OH. A fragmented, red envelope with the word, "Macomber" written in script accompanied the negatives. They were donated to the Washington State Library (WSL) in 2002. It contained 3 diaries and 132 photograph negatives that were copied by digitizing as a preservation measure. The original negatives are housed in the climate-controlled storage at the Washington State Archives in Olympia, WA. The images were copied to 2 CDs for access to the public. The collection also contains some of the files and email correspondence of Shirley Lewis, WSL librarian, with a client about the research and copyright issues regarding the collection. There is one photograph that was printed from a negative.
